Welcome to Hunewill Ranch’s New Blog

We at Hunewill Ranch are excited to debut this blog on our website. This blog is one  place we can share what makes us a special place to spend a vacation.  Whether traveling alone, with your special someone, or with a big family group a stay at Hunewill Ranch in the Eastern Sierra is sure to make lasting memories.  Located on the Eastern boundary of Yosemite we are just an hour half south from the Reno-Tahoe Airport and just an hour north of the Mammoth Airport.  The  ranch has been in our family since 1861 and today we are still family owned and operated.  Hunewill Ranch is a working cattle ranch and of our all-inclusive stays have some element of cattle work included for all ages.

If a real all-inclusive western vacation is what you want Hunewill Ranch is the place for you.  Stay in our cozy cabins, eat three meals a day that are served in our 1880’s ranch house, and ride out to work cows, lope across meadows, or just enjoy a leisurely stroll on horseback twice a day.  The summer weather here at 6500 feet is usually somewhere in the  comfortable 60’s or 70’s during the day and dipping down in the evenings. Most people find that once they are here they never want to leave but if you are looking for outside activities just a short drive away these are some of the highlights: fishing in high sierra trout streams and lakes, swimming and boating at Twin Lakes, and Bodie State Park, a historic mining town.

Wild Iris bloom in June each year in the beautiful Bridgeport Meadows!

Hunewill guests riding through crystal clear water and green pastures. The Hunewill Ranch in Bridgeport is 4500 acres. Lots of places to ride a horse and breath fresh mountain air.

All day ride up Buckeye Canyon- Once a week our guests take rides up into the Sierra high country.
